The Review of Voip

VOIP.com - Net Savvy

Voip.com is an adept telephone service provider that provides good service along with a price range that’s quite feasible. Their web site has got such an assortment of features, broadband being one of them, along with a test based on speed. This test would let you know how many lines your bandwidth could bear. The below Voip Solution review is of my experience with almost one year of using Voip.com's services

Features

Providing twelve features, Voip.com covers a wide range of basic services plus VOIP services which are considered to be benchmarks in the industry for both domestic and business uses, such as speed dial with 411(directory) shortcuts, call waiting, return, and call rejection facilities.
You can also block the ID of the outbound caller. The Voicemail and Three-Way calling features proved to be helpful.

The one thing you will hear from almost any Voip.com user is that the sound quality is through the roof. Crispy clear voice quality with no delays or "digital distortion' effects which are recognizable with shoddy VOIP service.

Installation

Voip.com is easy enough to install. The soft phone works well.
No hardware is required. Instead, the calls are routed directly to your PC or laptop.
Remember that the product quality of all Voip providers depends on your connectivity to a degree. After the quick initial setup I did not need to install and add-ons, plugins, patches or other backup software.

Pricing

Voip.com boasts several packages and pricing options. The all famous Unlimited Monthly is for $19.95. The first month is of course free, you also get an adapter and soft phone for free. The Unlimited Yearly deal is for $203 with the same offer as in the monthly plan. However, the soft phone monthly is for $14.95 with free unlimited minutes in the US, Puerto Rico and Canada.
The toll free numbers and virtual or actual phone numbers are an add-on, with a price of $5, with an additional charge of $10 as a set up fee. The unlimited monthly / yearly deals are easy picks, what with an adapter and soft phone for free.
Yet another choice would be the 200 minutes monthly a-la-cart for $10 a month. Voip.com comes out with new promotions from time to time with reduced prices, though they are not always listed on their website.

Service

When you search for reviews for any online service provider you will always find positive reviews along with "horror stories" of trials and tribulations with the customer service department. I did not experience any of the latter.
Service representatives are nice enough and gave a good impression of caring about small problems or queries.
The Voip.com service department has expanded over the recent year, and my queries and requests were answered within reasonable time. I asked them for change of billing day and the change was made right away.
In conclusion, Voip.com offers a well-rounded service with many options and packages to suit your home or business VOIP needs, within a reasonable price range, low maintenance and almost no technical difficulties.

The History behind VOIP

The journey of VOIP started nine years back. The first VOIP product got launched in 1996 and came into view of common man through the magazine named Computer Telephony Integration. The first VOIP product came with the name VOCALTEC, the software implementation of VOIP. It hit the market to great heights and the magazine too.... VOIP History
